About the Event
In their illustrated talk, Laura F. Sprague, senior consulting curator at the Bowdoin College Museum of Art, and Justin Wolff, professor of art history at the University of Maine, will consider Porter’s formative experiences in Maine and his passion for linking Americans through art, invention & communication. Sprague and Wolff co-edited Rufus Porter's Curious World: Art and Invention in America 1815-1860, a new publication that accompanies an exhibition of the same title that was previously on view at the Bowdoin College Museum of Art. Suggesed donation: $10 Please note that there are no restroom facilities at Walker Hall.
